Business and industry have been a huge staple in the Northgate neighborhood for many of years. Arguably, the most notable part of the Northgate neighborhood is the Northgate Mall. It's been a staple of the neighborhood for over 70 years. As the centerpiece of the neighborhood, the mall and the surrounding area include, 31 restaurants, 3 grocery stores, 148 shops, 10 gyms, and 8 banks.

The Northgate Mall has been around for over half a century and developers have decided it is time to make an upgrade to the fading shopping centre. They plan to turn many open spaces and parking lots into many apartments and smaller shops as well as interactive public spaces such as a lager open park space at the center of the facility. With the addition of the new Kraken practice facility, new top of the line apartment complexes in a metropolitan just 9 miles north of Seattle, Northgate will yet again be staple in business and industry in the Greater Seattle Area.
